A YouTube video titled "Watch Dogs" for a previously unannounced Ubisoft game appeared on Ubisoft's YouTube account and was subsequently removed during the company's E3 press conference.
The description for the video reads, "Everything is connected. Connection is power." The video discusses the huge amounts of information available on the web.
Shortly after it was pulled from YouTube, Ubisoft played the video and a demo during its press conference.
Watch Dogs, as shown in its gameplay trailer, revolves around the premise of the ctOS, a digital network that forms the basis of an internal war for information.
As anti-hero Aiden Pearce you have the ability to hack this network, and with this can access the "digital shadows" cast by all citizens. This includes the age, violence probability, diseases and criminal records they might hold. In addition he can control trains, traffic lights, jam cell phones and control almost every aspect of the connected world using a powerful device.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal with a team comprised of industry veterans from franchises Assassin's Creed,Rainbow 6 and Far Cry. The game has been two years in development.
No platforms were announced for the upcoming title.
